Best Practices Awards on Sustainable Development Goals
UN Global Compact Network India heldBest Practices Awards,2017“Sustainable Development Goals”during 12th National Convention on 28thApril, 2017 at Hotel Le-Meridien, New Delhi
Recognizing excellence has been the Key factor in United Nations Global Compact Network India (UN GCNI)” thinking over the years Towards this endeavour, UN GCNI initiated this year-an unique innovation platform namely the ‘Best Practices Awards on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)’. It was a special feature of the 12th National Convention of the UN GCNI held on 28thApril,2017 at New Delhi. The Awards were adjudged after a rigorous Competition of the Case Studies submitted by various participating organizations that are signatories of the UNGC.
Our 4 winners namely Citizen Foundation, ITC Limited, Larsen & Toubro Limited & Tata Chemicals Limited as the winners emerged winners from 47 entries from 34 companies after rigorous three tier evaluation system. At first tier, our Award Process Partner TTC evaluated the Case studies, then in second tier Screening Committee comprising three renowned experts of SDGs did the elimination and gave us 10 best Case Studies. Lastly, Jury Committee under the chairmanship of Mr. R.S Sharma, Former President, UN GCNI & former CMD, ONGC selected the winners. The other members of jury included Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee, Senior Director IILM, Dr. H. Chaturvedi, Director, BIMTECH, Ms. Ruchi Mohanty, Partnership & Engagement Specialist, UNDP and Dr. K. Vijaya Lakshmi, Vice President & Head of Innovation Systems, Development Alternatives.
The other Companies who qualified for the top 10 positions other than the above-mentioned companies were:

- Charities Aid Foundation
- Sterlite Technology
All the awards as well as certificates of the winners were presented at the special session of the 12th National Convention in the presence of Ms. Lise Kingo, CEO and Executive Director, United Nations Global Compact, New York. In addition, the winners were given the opportunity to share their case study with more than 400 delegates from Corporates, NGOsand Academia, present during the Convention.
