Product Portfolio & Innovation

EPL offers a wide array of packaging solutions, including laminates, tubes, caps, closures, and dispensing systems. As a trusted partner for over 1,200 clients globally, EPL serves key industries such as Beauty & Cosmetics, Food, Oral Care, Pharma & Healthcare, and Home Care. In the Oral Care sector, EPL sets the global standard, producing one in every three toothpaste tubes worldwide. Trusted by industry giants like Colgate, Procter & Gamble (P&G), and Unilever, EPL has earned its place as a leader in packaging innovation.

In FY 2023-24, EPL secured 24 new patents, further demonstrating its commitment to continuous innovation and technology development. Additionally, the company’s packaging solutions feature sustainability-driven designs, with 33% of products currently recyclable, and its tubes incorporating up to 50% post-consumer recycled (PCR) content. This significantly reduces the need for new plastics and supports EPL's environmental goals.

Sustainability Leadership

EPL is a frontrunner in sustainability, having introduced the world’s first recyclable tube as a converter, certified by key global sustainability bodies, including the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR-USA), RecyClass (Brussels), Cyclos (Germany), and Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). In FY 2024, EPL achieved a significant milestone with 21% of its global tube sales being recyclable, with an ambitious target to increase this to 60% by FY 2026.

As the first Indian global packaging company to have its Net-Zero targets approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), EPL demonstrates leadership in addressing climate change. With 25% renewable energy usage, the company has successfully reduced Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 18%. Furthermore, EPL collaborates with its suppliers to reduce upstream and downstream emissions and has been awarded the highest "A" rating in CDP's Climate Change and Water Security assessments for 2024.

Circular Economy & Waste Reduction

EPL has made significant strides in driving a circular economy. In India and China, the company has implemented in-house post-industrial recycling, recycling 2,003 metric tons of waste, which led to a 65% reduction in facility waste output and a 30% savings in raw material expenses. This initiative also resulted in a 60% decrease in waste disposal costs.

EPL also collaborates with local communities, adopting two villages in Maharashtra and driving plastic waste collection efforts. By educating and incentivizing rag pickers to sort, process, and regenerate plastic granules, EPL has recycled 2,800 metric tons of plastic waste in FY 2024. These efforts align with EPL’s strong commitment to sustainability and responsible sourcing.

Global Certifications and Recognition

EPL’s commitment to sustainability is underscored by the company’s adherence to industry-leading standards. All global manufacturing plants are certified with ISO 45001 (Health & safety), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), ISO 50001 (Energy Management), and ISO 20400 (Sustainable Procurement), driving responsible procurement practices throughout the supply chain.

EPL has earned recognition for its ongoing efforts in sustainability, including the prestigious Sustainability Champion Award by HP in 2023 and the Excellence in Supplier Relationship Management & Procurement Sustainability Award by the Institute of Supply Management (ISM) India in 2023.
