NTPC's key business practices include power generation, distribution, and providing energy solutions etc.
Power plants - NTPC builds and operates power plants using coal, gas, hydro, solar, and wind of 76+ GW capacity.
Renewable energy - NTPC has a 7+ GW renewable energy portfolio.
Power trading - NTPC sells electricity in short-term and real-time markets through power exchanges.
Consultancy - NTPC is also executing Project Management Consultancy assignments for setting up of solar projects of International Solar Alliance (ISA) in Africa, South and Central America amongst other consultancy projects.
We at NTPC believe in the Reduce-Reuse-Recycle concept, NTPC has undertaken the following initiatives in alignment with CEO Water Mandate to improve water efficiency and address water risks:
Zero Liquid Discharge at all our operational plants.
Air Cooled Condenser (ACC) at NTPC Patratu and North Karanpura instead of water-cooled condenser.
Rainwater Harvesting in our townships and plants.
Ash Water Recirculation Systems.
Liquid Waste Treatment Plant for treatment and reuse of sewage water.
Increased cycle of concentration for water used in cooling towers.
Using Dry Ash Evacuation Systems instead of previously used Wet Ash handling systems in coal power plants.
