The world is rapidly becoming more urban and so is India. More than half of world’s people live in cities. It is projected that six out of ten people will be urban dwellers by 2030 and two out of three will be urban/city dwellers by 2050. The scale and pace of India’s urbanization has the potential to define the 21st century. India is one of the biggest urban systems in the world with about 377 million people. 31 percent of all Indians reside in urban areas.
