Global Compact Network in collaboration with Sandvik Asia Private Limited held the first edition of the ‘Sandvik India Diversity Awards’ to commemorate the International Women’s Day at Sheraton Grand Hotel, Pune on 7th March, 2017. The award recognized individuals who have demonstrated exemplary leadership in promoting gender diversity. Ms. Anu Aga – Director Akanksha Foundation and Ex Chair Person Thermax, was the chief guest at the event. The juries for the Award were Swedish Chamber of Commerce, India; UN Global Compact Network India along with few renowned International organizations.
Ms. Ulrika Sundberg- Consul General of Sweden and Mr. Kamal Singh, Executive Director, UN Global Compact Network India along with Mr. Parag Satpute, Managing Director, Sandvik Asia Private Limited were present at the event. The response to the awards has been overwhelming with close to 169 applications secured from Individuals, Groups, NGOs & Foundations, Corporates, Academia and the Government.
