Anwesha Sarma

Anwesha Sarma works in the sustainable development space, with experience in waste management, stubble burning and crop residue management, climate policy. She has worked closely with development organizations, and local communities on issues related to solid waste management, stubble burning and crop residue management, and climate action planning, with a strong focus on solutions that work on the ground.

She holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development Practices from TERI School of Advanced Studies, New Delhi, and is a Gold Medalist in Liberal Arts from Cotton University, Guwahati. She previously interned with GIZ India, where she supported climate change and circular economy projects, including work on waste-to-energy initiatives and farmer engagement around alternatives to stubble burning. She currently works as a Programme Officer at the United Nations Global Compact Network India (UN GCNI)
