Harshitha Padmanabhan

Harshitha’s academic and professional background lies at the intersection of climate change and social equity. Her longstanding interest in these issues led her to pursue a degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Ashoka University, Sonipat followed by a postgraduate degree in Human Rights Studies from Columbia University, New York. Her thesis examined a critical issue in the United States: whether and how measures taken to mitigate climate-related financial risks can reinforce existing racial inequalities. Since then, Harshitha has gained over two years of professional experience working on issues at the intersection of environmental sustainability and rights issues. She currently works as a Programme Officer at the UN Global Compact Network India (UNGCNI)
